Complete WWE NXT Vengeance 2022 results.
On the program of WWE NXT Vengeance 2022, special episode of NXT 2.0, Pete Dunne faces Tony D’Angelo in cage, Toxic Attraction defend the tag team titles, the final of the Dusty Classic tournament and a main-event between Bron Breakker and Santos Escobar for the title of NXT.
Pete Dunne gets rid of Tony D’Angelo
We start the evening in the hard with the cage match between Pete Dunne and Tony D’Angelo who arrives in a car with driver – probably an Uber, he’s an NXT wrestler he’s not that rich. The match has a small peculiarity: it is a Weaponized Steel Cage Match. As its name suggests, objects of all kinds are authorized there to serve as weapons.
Pete Dunne beat Tony d’Angelo by falling with his Bitter End. As since the beginning of the rivalry the goal of the two wrestlers in the beginning of the confrontation was above all to break hands. Tool box, adjustable wrench, fire extinguisher… the objects serve well.
Dunne also had his hand tied behind his back for a while, but that didn’t stop him from taking the lead. D’Angelo goes through a table and is attacked with a cricket bat in the back. Dunne would finish the match wearing his second Bitter End after a crowbar. Good match, brutal and without dead time.
Cora Jade will team up with Raquel Gonzalez in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The former NXT champion prepared a hard workout for her partner as a video clip shows us.
Malcolm Bivens, in a promo recorded behind the scenes, explains that the only reason MSK won the Dusty Classic last year was because the Creed Brothers weren’t in it. The MSK, they plan to win the tournament for the second time in a row.
Toxic Attraction Still Tag Team Champions
The NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles are on the line in the next match. Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne defend their belts against Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta.
Toxic Attraction defeated Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta by falling with a high/low. The heels attacked their challengers before the start of the match while Mandy Rose tried several times to intervene in the match. The referee having seen her, decided to eject her from ringside.
Wendy Choo is looking for a partner for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. She proposed to Dakota Kai but the latter is not very interested and may have already found someone else.
Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs are at a bar discussing their date with Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter. If for Briggs everything seems to have gone well, Jensen is a little annoyed: He has obviously been friend-zoned by Carter. Ricochet, still in front of his television, spits out his coke.
LA Knight was going to do a promo but Grayson Waller came to interrupt him, accompanied by two policemen. He wants to have Kight arrested for violating the restraining order imposed on him by showing video of the attack last week. Knight responds with another video that shows Waller attacking him, and reminds him that page 2 of the restraining order prohibits Waller from attacking Knight as well. Thereupon, the two cops prefer to leave, they probably don’t want to be involved in this bullshit. LA Knight ends the segment by knocking Waller out of the ring. The two wrestlers will meet next Wednesday.
Persia Pirrotta and Indi Hartwell announce their participation in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament to give themselves another shot at the title after the loss tonight.
In a promo recorded behind the scenes, Tommaso Ciampa warns Dolph Ziggler who keeps putting him down.
Cameron Grimes fails against Carmelo Hayes
Carmelo Hayes defends the North American Championship against Cameron Grimes in the next match. Trick Williams accompanies the champion around the ring.
Carmelo Hayes defeated Cameron Grimes by falling with the Rocker Dropper. Williams attacked Grimes behind the referee and then tried to distract him later in the match but Grimes was able to get out of the situation with a poisonrana on the champion who was trying to take advantage of the situation. The champion will hesitate to use his belt to hit Grimes but will change his mind.
Kay Lee Ray visibly transformed a backstage room into rage room where she teaches Io Shirai to break things to let off steam. We would like the same at the editorial office to let off steam after each episode of Monday Night RAW.
The Creed Brothers win the Dusty Classic
We move on to the final of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic men’s tournament. MSK takes on the Creed Brothers. Wes Lee and Nash Carter try in this final to win the tournament for the second time after their victory last year.
The Creed Brothers defeated MSK by falling with a Julius Creed clotheline on Nash Carter. A good match but a bit short with an ending out of nowhere.
The Creed Brorthers leave with the Dusty Classic cup and a chance at the NXT Tag Team Championship against Imperium (Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel).
Gunter targets NXT title, but Solo Sikoa targets Gunther
And when we talk about the wolf, the trio is in the ring. Gunther takes the floor to congratulate the Creed Brothers but warns them: they will never be ready for Imperium. He also says he will be watching Bron Breakker’s match against Santos Escobar for the NXT Championship.
Solo Sikoa interrupts Gunther and threatens to go and smack him in the ring, as we would do at his home with the Samoans. But he won’t, at least not tonight. A match between the two wrestlers will undoubtedly take place in the very near future.
Meanwhile during the promos of Gunther and Sikoa the public preferred to sing the names of “WALTER” and “Uso”. The WWE Superstar renaming strategy is working like a charm. We hope they won’t stop.
In interview Dolph Ziggler plans to put an end to Tommaso Ciampa’s dream of becoming NXT champion one day and plans to watch tonight’s main event carefully, too.
Pete Dunne congratulates Carmelo Hayes on his victory over Cameron Grimes, but obviously has an idea in mind with the North American title.
Before the main-event, some matches for next Tuesday are announced: Tommaso Ciampa against Dolph Ziggler, LA Knight against Grayson Waller, and the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic women’s tournament begins.

Bron Breaker retains title
In the main event, Bron Breakker defended the NXT Championship against Santos Escobar. This time no NXT logo to destroy, Breakker sets the NXT Vengeance logo on fire before entering. It’s his thing, destroying logos.
Elektra Lopez accompanies the challenger while we will see some interventions. Joaquin Wilde came to distract Bron Breakker while Dolph Ziggler tackled Breakker behind the ref distracted by Lopez, but without success, Ziggler’s superkick only gave Escobar a two count. Ziggler will try to return to the ring but Tommaso Ciampa will come to prevent it.
Bron Breaker defeated Santos Escobar by falling with a Powerslam to retain his title.
Good match, Bron Breakker is certainly a machine, but Santos Escobar despite the defeat carried more than his share of the match tonight. Excellent performance.
A good special episode of WWE NXT, but you always wonder when you organize these kind of special episodes why go to the trouble of shielding them with promos and micro segments when you could take the opportunity to add some matches and offer more action than in a classic episode.
