WWE NXT January 25 Results

Complete results from the January 25, 2022 episode of WWE NXT.

On the WWE NXT program this Tuesday, January 25, the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Classic 2022 tournament continues, we know a little more about GUNTHER, Solo Sikoa and Boa face off in a Falls Count Anywhere, Kay Lee Ray, Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirrotta take on Toxic Attraction and Cameron Grimes takes on Tony D’Angelo for the title challenger spot of Carmelo Hayes.

MSK advance to semi-finals

We start this episode with the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament continuing. The MSK who have the right to launch the episode with a small promo face Jacket Time there.

MSK beat Jacket Time by falling with a Wes Lee Blockbuster on KUSHIDA.

Good atmosphere after the match, the two teams face each other and shake hands — we are still quite sad for KUSHIDA, of whom we can only be pessimistic for the future in WWE. MSK will face Malik Blade and Edris Enofe in the semi-finals.

Io Shirai and Zoey Stark discuss the Dusty Classic tournament, Tiffany Stratton passes by and challenges Io Shirai to a match later tonight. Two worlds that will collide.

Cameron Grimes does a promo on Tony D’Angelo, whom he faces tonight, while Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams arrive in the car accompanied by a certain Olliejayy – the artist who interprets the credits of NXT 2.0.

Santos Escobar challenges Bron Breakker… but not right away

Santos Escobar and the Legado Del Fantasma are in the ring. Escobar is there to address Bron Breakker, whom he mocks by making jokes about his father. He brings up the fact that they both come from well-known wrestling families, which is why he’s not afraid of him.

He doesn’t like him, he despises him, for the simple and good reason that his rise was made too quickly, that he was given the title, and that he was champion before him.

Bron Breakker interrupts Escobar, he has good things to say about him but finds that he lacks self-confidence. Escobar gets angry and wants to answer him but the NXT champion asks him to shut up (in Spanish) and advises him to challenge him. But Ecobar replies that things will be his way, and when the time is right, Breakker will know.

Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde try to attack Bron Breakker before leaving the ring but the NXT champion is obviously too strong, but for two opponents.

Solo Sikoa defeated Boa by pinfall with a Superfly Splash through a table in a Falls Count Anywhere quite classic in its genre. It starts in the ring with chairs, tables and kendo sticks, then goes behind the scenes where we see a sketch with a closed door behind which Boa finds himself stuck trying to chase Sikoa outside.

GUNTHER comes to dominate (like WALTER in fact)

In a short video clip from Imperium, WALTER GUNTHER says he was named so in honor of his grandfather who showed him what wrestling was – we would like to know what the grandfather was doing between 1933 and 1945 anyway. He also explains that it is time to wipe the slate clean and make way for a new era led by “the man who will spread pain and fear in WWE”. It’s ambitious, but it’s also a shame to want to forget a past of domination to start a new era… of domination.

Duke Hudson defeated Guru Raaj by falling with his Splash Mountain. A squash to raise interest around Duke Hudson whose gimmick has already been visibly changed, no more poker player. We will not complain.

Dante Chen appears for a promo in which he says he is going to attack Duke Hudson. Dante Chen is going to attack Duke Hudson. Dante Chen gets knocked out by Duke Hudson. Thanks for coming Dante Chen.

Kay Lee Ray, Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta defeated Toxic Attraction by pinfall with a sit-out cutter from Pirotta on Gigi Dolan while KLR chased Mandy Rose with her baseball bat.

A victory that could allow Hartwell and Pirotta to claim a tag team championship match, as for Kay Lee Ray, his turn will undoubtedly come very quickly too.

Cora Jade comes to ask Raquel Gonzalez to team up for the Dusty Classic, but the latter is not interested and even considers reuniting with her former partner Dakota Kai despite their recent rivalry.

The English in half

The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic continues, England’s Grizzled Young Veterans take on Chase University of Andre Chase and Bodhi Hayward in another quarter-final.

The Grizzled Young Veterans defeated Andre Chase and Bodhi Hayward with a double codebreaker on their opponents. A victory that takes James Drake and Zack Gibson against the Creed Brothers in the semi-finals.

Von Wagner arrives and beats up the losers of the previous match, before Robert Stone comes to offer a jacket and announces that Von Wagner has a new manager.

Grayson Waller introduces us to his new bodyguard, “a former Bollywood star” (who is none other than Saurav). Imagine, you are a star of Indian cinema, and once in America you find yourself bodyguard for a type of NXT 2.0, it makes you regret the trip.

We learn that Odyssey Jones is suffering from a knee injury and that he will have to have surgery to treat it.

Io Shirai defeated Tyffany Stratton by falling with the Moonsault. Apparently to be well seen among wrestlers in WWE you have to scream during your matches, if we are to believe Stratton who despite this did not do badly during this match. Too bad the character sucks.

In a promo Malcolm Bivens challenges Imperium, a three-on-three match against Diamond Mine. He also thinks Gunther is a horrible name. Malcolm Bivens only has truths to tell.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams introduce us to Olliejayy who comes to interpret make ’em fall in the ring, the credits of NXT 2.0. The public doesn’t look so crazy in front of this performance.

Cameron Grimes can thank Pete Dunne

The North American champion is in any case present to attend the following match, the main-event of this episode: Cameron Grimes faces Tony D’Angelo for the place of challenger n°1.

Cameron Grimes defeated Tony D’Angelo by fall with his Cave In. Pete Dunne intervened by attacking D’Angelo outside the ring by hitting him with a cricket bat in the arm.

Grimes offers himself with this victory (helped) the place of challenger to the title of champion of North America. He will thus face Carmelo Hayes at NXT Vengeance Day 2022, which was announced earlier in the evening and which will take place on February 15.

Outside the Performance Center Bron Breakker is interviewed when the Legado Del Fantasma arrives to attack the champion, no luck, Tommaso Ciampa comes to his rescue and scares the heels away who leave in their car.

A fairly nice episode of WWE NXT, with some good matches, especially for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament.
