It’s go again. As at the start of each season, the spotlight is on Paris Saint Germain. The capital club, despite the small revolution this summer, remains the big favorite in the Ligue 1 Uber Eats championship.
If questions exist because of the ability of Christophe Galtier to carry the PSG in Europe, the unanimity is on the other hand on the national chessboard.
To properly prepare for its season, Paris St Germain went away from its bases as usual. It is therefore thanks to a tour of Asia that the men of Galtier are sparing their mount for the new season.
PSG’s 2021-2022 season
The logic has been respected, it will be said. Indeed, PSG won the 10e coronation of its history in Ligue 1 Uber Eats at the end of the past season. 26 wins, 8 draws and only 4 losses. This is the record of Paris St Germain in 38 league games played.
The Parisians have put their paws on the championship, decimating almost everything in their path. Only a few teams were able to thwart their plans. This is particularly the case for Strasbourg, during a memorable and epic duel at La Meinau 3 goals everywhere during the 35e daytime.
This is also the case of AS Monaco which inflicted a slap in the face on the players of Pochettino by winning against Louis II on the score of 3 goals to 0.
Overall, the Parisians, despite an average game, dominated the debates and obtained their title of champion from the 36e day thanks to a draw 2 everywhere against ESTAC. PSG striker Mbappé finished top scorer with 28 goals. He was also named best player of the season at the UNFP trophies.
The movements of the off-season at PSG
This summer, there was movement almost at all levels at PSG. Only President Nasser retains the absolute confidence of the Qataris. The first fuse that blew was Leonardo, the former sports director.
Then, exit Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentinian leaves the chair to Christophe Galtier, named a few weeks earlier best coach of Ligue 1 Uber Eats during the UNFP Trophies.
As for the players, we note certain notable arrivals such as those of Nordi Mukiele or the Portuguese Vitihna, who reinforces the midfield of the Ile-de-France club.

PSG’s ambitions this season
For PSG and its XXL workforce, any other result than the title of champion would be considered a failure, especially if the game without genius, without invention and often lamented intensity is added. The new Parisian coach will also have particular pressure, since he knows he is expected.
Each match, each decision and reaction will be scrutinized and commented on. On the European scene, here again, Parisian ambitions are not hidden. The capital club wants to be in the premier competition in Europe.
Even if this summer, President Nasser has tempered things somewhat, an elimination in the quarter-finals would be considered a poor performance for a team cut out to titillate the European summits.
The player to follow at PSG
Today, at PSG, there is Mbappé and the others. This is what the young player strived to do last season. Today, he leaves with a class gap compared to Neymar and Messi. Even if a beautiful chemistry between these 3 monsters would be pure happiness for Galtier and the Ile-de-France supporters.
The PSG calendar
PSG begins its campaign on August 7 in Clermont. 1er shock of the season will take place during the 4e day against AS Monaco at the Parc des Princes. The first round of the Classic against OM will take place at the Parc on October 16 and the return to the velodrome on February 26 during the 25e daytime.
