The Indian cricket team are set to face England in a Test, three one-day internationals and three England T20 internationals in July. The Tour’s only test match is the rescheduled test for the five-match test series at the Tour of India in England in 2021.
India were leading 2-1 and before they could face England in the fifth Test in Manchester, their unit had a series of COVID-19 cases and eventually the match was postponed. The Control Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) and the English Cricket Board (ECB) have jointly decided to postpone the fifth Test to 2022 as India are already expected to play white ball matches.
India and England have faced each other 130 times in Test cricket alone. Among them, England have won 49 bouts while India have been victorious on 31 occasions with 50 matches ending in a draw. The two teams have met in 103 matches in an ODI game where India beat England with 55 wins to their opponent’s 43 wins.
In the shorter format, India have won ten of their 19 T20I games against England, who have won the other nine. Last year when England toured India they lost in all three series and lost the last three T20I series including home and away.

BCCI has already announced a 17-member squad for the postponed fifth audition in Birmingham. Rohit Sharma will replace Virat Kohli, the test team leader in the previous round. India fly-half KL Rahul was initially named in the 17-member Test squad but will miss the Tour of England to travel to Germany for medical treatment.
The Indian Cricket Board has yet to announce the line-ups for the White Ball series while the ECB has yet to announce teams in all three formats.
