All about the new season!

Compared to last season, Ligue 1 Uber Eats has three new clubs to start 2022/2023 with the rises of Toulouse FC, AC Ajaccio and AJ Auxerre. This will not be the only novelties of a special season, between a calendar adapted to the World Cup, the establishment of French boxing day, 4 runs at the end of the season and a new numbering which will allow to see Lacazette with No. 91 at OL or Whabi Khazri No. 99 at MHSC.

An adapted 2022/2023 calendar and 4 runs at the end of the season

The 2022/2023 season does indeed have some particularities compared to the previous ones. First of all, the calendar was adapted to the FIFA World Cup (November 21 to December 18, 2022) with an international break after J15 (November 11-12-13), a resumption the week of December 26, then a J17 in the form a French Boxing Day, on January 1 and 2, 2023.

Then, in view of the transition to 18 clubs during the 2023/2024 season, the number of descents in Ligue 2 BKT at the end of the 2022/2023 financial year is changing. The format change will be operated by 4 descents (the 17th, 18th, 19th and last in the classification at the end of the season), while in the other direction 2 Ligue 2 BKT clubs (1st and 2nd in the classification at the end of the season) will go up in Ligue 1 Uber Eats.

As a result, the 2022/2023 season will end at the end of Ligue 1 Uber Eats J38, as there will be no play-off matches.
